Genji-Goethe-Project: March 7, 2013 ２０１３年３月７日

Kanagawa Kenmin-Hall is booked. Now planning is entering a new phase.

It will be a combination of traditional Japanese music and european music: Sankyoku (soto, shamisen and shakuhachi) and stringquartett plus Vocals. Also sho and organ.
And it will all be based on two great pieces of literature from Japan and Germany: Murasaki Shikibu's "Genji Monogatari" and Goethe's "Wilhelm Meister".

For the time being: a very simple pre-information only (and only in Japanese...).

Rehearsal/Masterclass at Norfolk

If you ever wanted to see how a conducting masterclass works - and a rehearsal of a contemporary piece... I cut down the 10 minutes rehearsal to a 5:10 condensed version.
Simon Carrington is teaching and the orchestra ist the Norfolk Chamber Orchestra.

Norfolk Chamber Music Festival - Choral Conducting

This Summer I joined the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival of the Yale School of Music under the guidance of Simon Carrington. Take a look at the video of an excerpt of the closing concert. Awsome choir! Fantastic pianists! Wonderful Soprano! Great piece!

Finally I get to update this blog. I will try to publish a couple of posts over the next few days.

Our choir's concept

With this choir we want to pursue European choir music under the guidance of a German musician (conductor, singer, composer, arranger), Alexander Naji, in order to seek new possibilities to express Western choir music in Japan. 


合唱団コンセプト 

ドイツ人音楽家アレクサンダー・ナジ氏の指導の下、本場ヨーロッパの合唱音楽を追求し、日本における西洋合唱音楽の表現の新たな可能性を探る。
